The Des Moines Register is keeping Dennis Kucinich out of its debate tomorrow because he didn't have a full-time, paid staffer in Iowa, or a rented office space, as of October.
Here's the Register's (lame) explanation for why Kucinich and Gravel are not taking part in tomorrow's debate: Why Kucinich isn't in the Democratic debate.
Neither Dennis Kucinich nor Mike Gravel had a campaign office in Iowa by the Oct. 1 deadline, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission. Gravel also did not have any paid staff in the state by the deadline.
This is, quite frankly, B.S. of the highest order. For a media organization to pull these types of shenanigans in a debate that will help shape the future of this nation is unforgivable.
Here's the story from the Kucinich campaign.
Here's a link to ways to contact the Register and register your displeasure. Credibility is always important to journalists. I think the register loses some of theirs over this.
