OMG! I Have Become A Conservative!

I'm abstaining from sex, cause I can't afford to go out.

I conserve my heat- have to keep the thermostat lower because it cost so much to fill up the tank.

I am conserving food cause it cost so much to eat. Making less trips to the grocery store.

I am conserving drugs by splitting my medication or going without.

I am conserving gas by making fewer excursions.

I am conserving my money by not buying as much crap from China.

I am conserving my energy cause I ain't eating enough soup.

I am conserving electricity cause it's gone up too.

I am conserving my political opinions cause they aren't respected.

I am conserving my credit debt cause the interest is too high.

I am conserving my cable tv usage cause there's mostly junk news and junk reality shows and oldies and commercials and so little of importance to watch.

I am conserving my rants and rages against the big guys cause of FISA.

I am conserving my prayers cause there are so many more who need more help than me.

Some of this conservation is good and might slow down global warming.

But some of the forced conservation SUCKS big time.

It's hard work being a Conservative.

      yesterday, and we agreed that the general holiday atmosphere in our area is "grim and humorless."  That cuts across all income and class lines, which are all well represented locally.  Then I watched a Muppet Show Christmas song on You Tube, and as I was watching the childrens' faces, I was thinking that they looked so much more ... childlike and innocent than the kids today.  I'm probably just showing my age, but it seems anyone old enough to talk is supposed to have an adult viewpoint these days.

  Showing chicken-shit so-called "conservatives" that our founding fathers were endeavoring to escape, in declaring independence, much of what they promote:  economic exploitation, nepotism, church domination.

  I also place conservation well within a pure definition of conservative.

      conservative and liberal have been so distorted and corrupted by political BS that (to me, anyway) they are are largely meaningless.  In my youth, who would have ever called plunging the country into extreme deficit spending conservative?  Who would have called attacking a country halfway around the world that was no threat to us conservative?  Who would have called government intervening into Michael Schiavo's family decisions after every one of many court decisions went in his favor conservative?

      and please, pass the potroast! ;)
