Its Not Edwards' Love Child, It's Mine

I really need to clear the air here.

Many of you have probably heard the rumors from Drudge, running with the paragon of American journalism known as the National Enquirer.  They are reporting that a former campaign staffer, Rielle Hunter, is six months pregnant with Edwards' child.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I confess. The child is mine. Despite rumors that Anthony Young has claimed it is his, its not. Its mine. She is carrying my child. Ms. Hunter is very upset at the commotion this has caused, and we would both appreciate it if everyone would give us our privacy so that we can provide a calm environment for her over the next few months.

Please let this story die, already. Get a life.

And another thing.... exactly when did Drudge and the Enquirer gain such noteriety on this site?  Nevermind that, no need to answer real questions.

So please, I beseech you all, give it a rest.

Full disclosure: I am on the fence betwixt Obama and Edwards. I would be very happy with either of them as President. I don't believe any democrat would put this story out there in order to smear each other. It clearly has Repugnican origins.

For everyone who will invariably insist that I delete this diary, it is meant to snark all of the idiots who are giving Drudge and the Inquirer undeserved credentials. I really hope this is the last we hear of this bullshit story.

      I confess.  The child is mine (actually ours but let's not quibble).

      How can I prove this?  Easy....No one refers to their own child as IT.  That should have tipped you off.  I was going to let this  slide in the interest of domestic tranquility, but after talking with my wife, my other children (that I know of), the family pets and a random pastor we found at the mall waiting for Santa, I have decided to come clean.

      Now is a time for healing, so I will be retiring with my family, friends, entourage, and hangers on to an undisclosed resort for the holiday season.  However, I will be making ourselves available to the media after our representatives have met with the appropriate scheduling directors.  So please, for the sake of my family, the Edwards family, and my imaginary friends... move on to another story.

      For FOX NEWS producers:  Quick... Look!  There is a missing Blonde in aisle 3!!!!

    Not only is it FP on drudge (which I can understand avoiding like an infectious disease), it was 'covered' on my local syndicated TV morning show as being 'fact'.

    I understand your concern that the story is only getting legs here on DKos and may gain tracktion because of that. My preferred tactic is to ridicule this story into oblivion.
