I received yesterday Tancredo's Selective service Record thru a FOIA.
Yesterday I received Rep. Tom Tancredo's Draft Classification Record, from the Selective Service thru a FOIA.
It seems like Tom has quite a few questions to answer about how suddenly his childhood depression had reappeared, after receiving a 1-A Classification on Nov 14,1968.
All dates and Classifications are from:
Thomas G. Tancredo- Selective Service Number 5-1-45-462
10-20-1964 until 11-14-1968 he was classified as:
2-S - Registrant deferred because of activity in study
On 11-14-1968 he was reclassified as 1-A - Available for Military Duty, This classification was good until 12-13-1968 when all of a sudden he was rated again as 2-S (Student).
This rating was good until 7-15-1969, when he was again classified as 1-A, good for Nam!
On 6-23-69 he took a Armed Forces Physical Examination - Results: Acc (Acceptable) Tom was out of school again, must of been, as he was re-classified 1-A again on 7-15-1969
So what happened after Tom realized his days as a career student were over, one asks?
First, Go back to the 1-a rating he received on 11-14-68 after being a college student for 4 years, Tom drops out of college. Nothing wrong with that, but all of a sudden Tom re-enrolls in College 27 days later, on 12-13-1968, in the middle of December, 13 days before Christmas! His Childhood Depression must of had a bad flare-up!
Tom waits until Dec 15,1969 to appeal his 1-A rating to the Appeals Board. But on Dec 1,1969 the Draft Board holds it first Vietnam Lottery and Tom draws Number 135 ( he's as good as gone with that number) so 15 days later he appeals his 1-A rating. Mind you he had been rated 1-A since 7-15-1969. This action blocks his induction until the Board rules on his appeal. On 05-12-1970 Tom gets his prayers answered, for he was classified 1-Y. Then on 7-13-1970 he takes another Armed Forces Physical Examination with the results in tom winning the Draft Lottery; Rej-(rejected) He's home free, folks!
That's how Tom Tancredo gamed the system, when hundreds of young men his age were being killed in Vietnam every month!
