Random thoughts with no obvious connection. Just a venting if you will.
If George W. Bush is such a great leader, how did he manage to lose the support of the international community following 9/11, especially when that support was at a high point not seen in generations?
Why do people have to have illegally bright low beam headlights? I'm glad they can see where they are going, but I'm not happy that it is at my or my fellow motorists expense. Calling these bright light motorist inconsiderate constitutes a minimalist definition of selfish. Calling them wreckless is more accurate as they are presenting a hazard to other motorists.
I appreciate the hard work the good folks in the early caucus states commit themselves to in order to select a presidential candidate. It just seems to me that in the name of fairness, other American citizens should have a deciding voice on who will be the party's candidate. By the time the primaries get out here, the race is over.
Do people know the difference between profanity and vulgarity? Saying the lords name in vain is profanity. Calling someone a worthless #### is vulgar. Saying Jesus F-ing Christ is both profane AND vulgar.
Iran has their zealots running their country, we have ours. Seemingly, the vast majority of the citizens in each country don't really agree with the extreme views and policies of their respective leaders. No doubt there exists a small percentage in each country that feels their leaders are on the correct side of the issue.
And contrary to the generally accepted perception people have of me, I do enjoy Christmas. I love the lights, the trees and decorations, cookies and treats, the warm, genuine, frequent humanity we experience during this season. There's a buzz in the air and many people are indeed joyous.
I just don't like the brash, cruel commercialism that has crept into the season. It's unsightly and frankly exemplifies our worst traits as humans.
Thats all. I feel better now.
May the season bring you the best it has to offer and may the memories of it keep you warm throughout the coldest days.
