I just got back from celebrating Christmas with my family in Michigan and I couldn’t think of a better way to unwind after a 10 hour drive than to sit down and put together tonight’s diary. I’m tanned (ok not so tanned - I was in MICHIGAN after all), rested and ready for action.
Didja miss me? :o)
So... just 8 days to Jan. 3rd and the stakes couldn’t be higher. People are starting to take a long hard look at who they want as their next president. Some haven’t picked a candidate. Others have flirted with and even busted their butts for a candidate. But in the end it comes down to who’s best suited and has the experience to lead this nation out of the mess dubbya’s created.
And more than a few have decided that Hillary’s the only candidate who’s ready to get the job done. Check out her latest ad – it’s called STAKES...
Make the jump – there’s more...
As we near the first primary of the campaign season, people are starting to pin down just who they want as our next president. Now I’m sure this happens in all camps, but I couldn’t help but notice that a former Obama Steering Committee member has decided to support Hillary in the closing days of the campaign in Iowa. From Hillary’s press release earlier today...
I’ve Switched to Hillary
Muscatine County Ironworker and Former Barack Obama Labor Steering Committee Member Switches Support to Hillary as Momentum on the Ground Continues to Grow
DES MOINES, IA — As the Clinton campaign’s momentum continues to build in Iowa, the campaign spotlighted Bob McFadden of Muscatine County, an ironworker and former Barack Obama campaign labor steering committee member, who has switched his support to Hillary Clinton.
McFadden switched to Hillary because he wants a candidate who has the strength and experience to enact real solutions to the country’s big challenges.
"Hillary Clinton won’t just talk the talk – she cares about the issues important to all of us and will work to change the direction of our country," McFadden said. "I support Hillary because she has the strength and experience to enact universal health care and deliver the real solutions our country needs."
As momentum continues to grow for Hillary’s candidacy, more and more Iowans are deciding to caucus for her on January 3rd. Hillary will launch the "Big Challenges, Real Solutions Tour – Time to Pick a President Tour" on December 26th. During the tour, Hillary Clinton will outline the challenges that Americans face at home and around the world and how her unique background makes her the most qualified person to be the next President of the United States.

The campaign also lays out some very convincing arguments in a memo which talks about all the challenges the next president will face. From bringing our troops home safely and swiftly, to rebuilding our lagging economy, to enacting true healthcare reform, to finding new ways to employ our workers while developing clean and renewable sources of energy and reducing the demands on our planet... it all comes down to who has the experience needed to lead our nation in the coming years.
For my money, the only one who’s got what it takes is Hillary. Check out what they have to say in today’s campaign memo...
Memo - Big Challenges, Real Solutions: Time To Pick A President
As Iowans prepare to gather to pick a President on January 3rd, one central question should be on their minds:
"Who would be the best president?"
America faces a war abroad and a troubled economy at home -- critical moments that demand a President who is tested, ready to lead on Day 1 and offers real solutions to the big challenges we face. And that person is Hillary Clinton.
That’s the message Hillary will be carrying throughout Iowa as she embarks today on a nine day swing in the lead up to the caucuses. She begins the tour in Mt. Pleasant with President Bill Clinton, Governor Tom Vilsack, and Christie Vilsack. She will also make stops in Pella, IA and Cumming, IA.
Throughout the trip, Hillary is going to talk about her 35 years of making change happen – from protecting kids from abuse, to reforming education in Arkansas, to helping get health care for six million children and for our nation's reservists and guardsmen.
Change isn’t something you just demand or hope for, it is something you work for and Hillary has been working for it all her life.
In the White House, she will rebuild the middle class, curb the influence of the special interests and restore this country to greatness. She will end the war, get healthcare for every American and renew our energy future.
It will be a new beginning for all of us.
She has the track record of strength, experience and change that the times demand which is why the Des Moines Register and Quad-City Times have joined the growing number of Iowans supporting her.
They believe she will make the best President and because they believe she will win. She has stood up to the Republicans and beaten them twice in landslides and next November she will inspire millions to come out and participate in the process to make history November 2008.
There are eight days to go until the Iowa Caucuses:
It’s time to pick a president.

This lady doesn’t just talk the talk folks – she walks the walk and has been for 35 years. Nobody else has what it’ll take to get the job done.
Nobody.
And the sakes couldn’t be higher.
