Latest Poll: Clinton crushed in Iowa

It is all over but the finger pointing and blame laying in Iowa today as it becomes clear that Hillary Clinton is going to get her clock cleaned in the Iowa caucus this Thursday by at least 2-1.  Who would have guessed the Clinton machine could unravel to such mediocrity?  Details and latest scorching hot Polls below the fold.

Oh, wait a minute.  We can replace "Hillary Clinton" with "Barack Obama" or "John Edwards" in that snarky intro above.

This poll and that poll show this Democratic candidate is surging, or leading or tanking.  The bubble has burst.  Obama, Hillary, and Edwards have all lost due to an incompetant campaign, too much money or not enough money, to much lieing and evading questions.  Or maybe they werent the right color or the right sex or didnt have the correct past profession, I am not sure.  Whatever it is, according to all these damned worthess polls whoever wins the Democratic Iowa caucuses is NOT going to get 60 or 70% of the votes!  Here is the latest composit from Real Clear.

So, all this time and money spent for what?  A virtual 3 way tie?  On to New Hampshire and another series of whining, nit-picking, worthless hit-diaries.  Boy, is this process screwed up or what?

I was tempted, for the sake of irony to add some stupid worthless poll to this diary but couldnt stomach it.

I will conclude by wishing your Democratic candidate good luck and you a Happy New Year.  May the best Democrat win Thursday.

  because of the elimination of candidates below a threshold, there will likely be a bigger spread between the first and third place finishers than you're seeing in polls now.

  insider advantage has edwards 41, clinton 35, obama 22, i believe.

  remember, the final percentage will be the percentage of delegates won, not the percentage of votes received...

    is Edwards, Obama, Clinton. Not only is that my prediction, but what I hope for. Not only does the thought of a Clinton nomination sicken me, but I love an unpredictable race. Clinton finishing third in IA will make this race WIDE open. It would be damn fun watching!!

  suppose the first contests were California & Florida primaries on January 3rd.  Clinton would the automatic winner in that beauty contest.   No chance for edwards, obama, biden, kucinich.. nobody, the odds would be stacked against those candidates to alter the public consciousness in their favor.    

  Although it displeases me to no end that Kinnick Stadium can draw about as many on a weekend that caucus does every 4 years for the next president, at least those that do caucus are informed and can be persuaded to switch sides if debated..   that's not something that would happen in a california beauty contest.

•  Yeah but.....

  Edwards is surging right now and has been doing so for about 2 weeks.  Obama surged too, but it peaked probably in late November or early December.  All the polls taken alone are worthless however trends do exist and the biggest trend is that of Edwards moving up.  You can't dismiss that fact.

      Obama did surge in the polls in November and Edwards is surging now.  That doesn't mean he will win and I do agree with the polls being incredibly inaccurate in Iowa.  I don't buy into the index of the all the polls to ascertain who has the "lead," but polls do show trends in Iowa.  They show candidates losing and gain momentum.  How much remains to be seen, but surges are real.  Just ask Howard Dean.
