Joe Klein's latest: you won't believe it (really)

Thu Dec 06, 2007 at 07:12:17 PM PDT

Black is white, up is down, and Joe Klein isn't afraid to tell you about it.
This morning, the maroon said:

The Bush reaction to this — he didn’t try to block it. He didn’t try to postpone it. He didn’t spend weeks, he didn’t ask the intelligence community ‘give me a couple of weeks, let’s see if we can figure out some kind of negotiating initiative or some way to respond to this.’ He didn’t try to spin it to our advantage. This is an amazing moment of candor by the United States.

I know you THINK you know what he meant....
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Among a few hundred others,

A skeptical Joe Scarborough responded to Klein’s cheerleading for the administration, stating, "Well that’s one way to look at it," then explained that Bush continued to warn of World War III with Iran despite knowing better. Klein chuckled, "There is that..."

Eventually, Klein decided that he might be able to spin out of his ridiculous statements about Bush. So.............

In a post titled "Misinterpreted," Klein responds to our criticism:

This is wrong. Obviously, I was referring to the NIE itself as a remarkable moment of candor for the United States. I thought that Bush’s reaction to it was, literally, incredible. As in, not to be believed–which was made completely clear in my cover story.

I mean, is this what Joe Klein has come to, at last? Has he no shame, no self-awareness, no realization that people can "see him?" What a 1y1ng @$$h0le. I can't imagine why TIME or anybody else would want this guy's name on the door.
Well, ok, maybe on THAT door...
