My Bargain With The Devil

In response to a diary here on Sunday, I watched "Iraq For Sale," on the internet.  After I had watched that, I watched "Fahrenheit 9/11" at the same website. I was blown away.  

I have a repug friend who is 83 years old. She has always been a repug.  She is an avid Faux news watcher.  I brokered a deal with her:  Faux news shall be my only cable network source of news for 30 days, with the only exception being that I can watch MSNBC from the time I get home from work (5:30 p.m.) until 6:00 p.m.  Notice that I still get to access news on the online, as well as Daily Kos.  In exchange, I shall bring the DVD of Fahrenheit 9/11 to her home on Sunday and we shall both watch it together.  

"I have but one life to give to my country."  Thirty days of  Faux news – pray for me!  

I shall be checking in here regularly for support

  for watching Faux so you don't have to, and possibly waking up one repug?

    You know, I also have a senior friend who is a rightwing nutcase.  You and I certainly have a lot in common! However, I would NEVER agree to this just to get him to watch Michael Moore.  I'm just not that good a person!

  Fox Noise channel makes me want to hurl, that is when it's not making me enraged. I hope you can remain sane after all the propaganda and utter bs. My dad watches nothing but Faux and he is so uninformed it's breathtaking.

  ... or else all you're doing, both of you, is just watching coloured shapes and ignoring the content, the real message. So I guess you'll have to discuss not only the F9/11 with your guinea pigfriend, but also the Fox news. Which means you will actually have to listen - but that of course gives you the opportunity to share your real news from elsewhere too!

  You have to watch Faux and she has to watch Olbermann, Inconvienent Truth, Farenheit 9/11, Iraq for Sale and a few other Reality Based shows.

  Sheesh, if you are going to suffer you should get more for it than having her watch ONE show.

  You could post a daily diary of "Things I learned from Fox News Today." That way the rest of us, who can not watch Fox due to our low tolerance of evil, can learn what they are spinning.
