Are you getting tired of this yet?
Some of the big news of the week is that Mr. Bush has finally admitted a mistake, namely the "bring em on" quote he used back in 2003. During a roundtable interview with some 14 reporters, Bush identified the phrase as a poor choice of words, saying that "sometimes words have unintended consequences".
In typical Bush fashion, he's not being straight with us again.
Here's what he told the reporters about what he meant by "bring em on":
"Sometimes, words have consequences you don't intend them to mean...'Bring 'em on' is the classic example, when I was really trying to rally the troops and make it clear to them that I fully understood, you know, what a great job they were doing. And those words had an unintended consequence. It kind of, some interpreted it to be defiance in the face of danger. That certainly wasn't the case."
Compare this to the true context of how he originally used the phrase:
"Anybody who wants to harm American troops will be found and brought to justice," Bush said. "There are some that feel like if they attack us that we may decide to leave prematurely. They don't understand what they are talking about if that is the case. Let me finish. There are some who feel like the conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is, bring 'em on."
No, Mr. Bush, its not all that difficult to see how "some interpreted it to be defiance in the face of danger."
I'm beyond being tired of this fuck.
