I need a break from political blogs...

I've decided to try a little experiment:  I'm swearing off political blogs until January 1st, 2008.  However, I'm going to try and post quasi-regularly to dKos, and give updates as to what "regular" people are talking about.

There have been more than a few times where I've talked politics with a co-worker/relative/whatever and they had NO clue what I was talking about.  Most of the time, they would just watch the evening news, scan CNN.com briefly, and that was the totality of their political information.  Things that have hundreds of posts here, or at TPM, or Eschaton seem to be virtually unknown outside of the blogosphere.  I've decided I want see how that feels.

Last week, I went into my feed-reader and deleted all of my politics bookmarks.  So let the experiment begin...

    But then, I guess I'm really quitting my attempt to quit smoking, so when I quit quitting, am I really holding firm?  Or when I don't quit not quitting quitting, am I really quitting?

  And I don't really care to know what "irregular" people are talking about in that being regular or irregular is something that I don't believe is any of my business.

•  Well I've never tried to give up

  blogs or being a political junkie, but I did stop watching all TV news for a long time after Dean flamed out.  I got so sick of the lies, spin, and what to them constituted news that I just chucked it all and relied only on the internet and blogs.  I now watch some cable news like Olbermann and lately Scarborough because he's the only conservative that doesn't just spin everything into lies.

  Rejection of blogging sounds good to me, too.  Maybe we could start a  "know nothing" group, but how would we know we were a group, if we didn't know anything?  And would it make Kos mad and would he pull our tu?
