IGTNT: Promises To Keep

I Got the News Today (2/9/2007 Edition). Yesterday, the Department of Defense announced the names of five soldiers killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  According to the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count the number of names released by the DoD is now 3102 and there are thirteen more names of the deceased awaiting notification of the next of kin before being publicly released.

Frazier's mother, Shelia Cutshall, told The Free Lance-Star of Fredericksburg that she last spoke with her son by phone on Sunday night, when he called with news of his promotion from corporal to sergeant. "He was upbeat," she said. "I told him I missed him, and he said he missed me too."

DoD Identifies Marine Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Joshua J. Frazier, 24, of Spotsylvania, Va., died Feb. 6 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.  Frazier was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

DoD Identifies Marine Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Cpl. Jennifer M. Parcell, 20, of Bel Air, Md., died Feb. 7 while supporting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.  Parcell was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan.
