I am a foreigner, from a European country.
Living in the US for 4 years now.
Last couple of days I have received e-mails from
friends and family from my native country, asking what's going on in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Where is the army, red cross, volunteers, why isn't the government doing anything?
So I explain them about the situation, or at least how I see it.
The incompetence of the president and his friends.
Well, they already know about all this. But it's still hard for them to imagine that a relatively small group (BushCo) can completely mess up and innocent people die because of that.
Hard for me also.
But the hardest part is that this president have been messing up a lot of things but is still the POTUS.
How many people have died and will die because of him?
Most Americans don't like Bush, or least disagree with his policies.
But he is still the POTUS.
Because he's elected? No!
The USA is not more or less of a democracy then many other countries in the world. The difference is that in many other democracies Bush would have been kicked out off office by now.
I have always loved the USA and hope to stay here for many more years to come.
But what really makes me disappointed and sad is not so much Bush and his friends but his opponents.
I am not talking about the Democrats in congress and senate, they seem to be comfortable with their situation.
I am talking about you!!
Why isn't anything happening?
Many times I read on this blog "I am not going to take it", "Impeach Bush", "Bush needs to resign" etc. but nothing really happens.
A lot of complaining about Coulter, Limbaugh, Fox, CNN.....who cares what they say.
They make a lot of money and complaining won't change that.
Let's be constructive.
I truly think that the time is now to start showing (y)our teeth and frustration in public instead of behind your computer screen. Start organizing!
Go on September 24th to the hopefully massive demonstration in DC.
Meet like-minded people....democrate, libertarian, moderate republicans or green party.
Share that one thought: LET'S GET RID OF BUSH!!
You can already have more than 50% of the American public on your side, and it shouldn't be too hard to convince more.
Action!!
I'll see you in DC later this month, and hopefully at many other places until the job is done.
