MensNewsDaily.com, an Internet "news" site that previously syndicated Jeff Gannon's columns, is striking back with a column entitled ""Jeff Gannon"...One Last Time."
In a vitrol-laced column written there by Sher Zieve -- who is described as a "conservative political commentator who firmly believes that if Leftists ran the country (left to their own devices), it would be the end of the United States as a sovereign nation" -- begins with the a wonder of a lede: ""Jeff Gannon" is a pseudonym. So what?"
Some of the gems from the column: "Dem leaders are, now, actually screaming for an investigation into the "Jeff Gannon affair"! Note: Jeff, if you had only been more "liberally-diplomatic" with your question, none of this would have happened. But, Jeff being the straight-shooter that he is, opted to be direct. For a conservative, that can prove hazardous. And it was."
Delving further: "Most of the emails I received included the "fact" that Jeff has "pornographic and gay sites online". OOOH! However my, most reliable, source advises that it is not true. Before coming to Washington DC, Jeff was in software. The site domain names were registered, by Jeff, for a client or clients. The same source advises that these sites were never brought on-line, for said clients."
(Gee, wonder who his source was, since MensNewsDaily.com seems close to the Talon News machine.)
Continued: "Somehow, the left actually believes that the WH journalists are still impartial. Good grief, kids! Journalists haven't been "impartial" for decades. Get a grip! Also, "straight-news" reporters (they don't really exist in old media...it's now a joke) are not the only journalists allowed into WH press conferences. Where have you been?"
And, now out of breath from working so hard: "The real issue is that old leftist media doesn't want New (slightly more conservative) Media into their club. That's the real issue. Nothing else. They've had a monopoly on beating up Republican presidents for years and they refuse to give it up, without a fight. Face it old media...your side is fading away, thankfully. Like it or not, we in the New Media plan to enter the old-media's hallowed halls of press conferences, join you clubs and (uh-oh!) maybe even move into your neighborhoods! That's what you're really afraid of...isn't it?
So, Jeff or James, wherever you are, you took one for all of us in New Media. I, for one, thank you. But, if possible, don't be a stranger. We'd like to hear from you. The best to you and your family!"

Do yourself a favor and don't. There's no feedback forms and we don't want this site claiming it also has 700,000 aily visitors like the esteemed Mr. Guckert did today.
Update [2005-2-10 22:23:3 by CHFDigital]: Tom Kertes makes a good point, as this brings up an important question-- what is the relationship between this site and Talon News? Was Talon News being paid for Gannon's columns? If so, how much?
