Today, violence exploded in Afghanistan. That place that Bush and the Republicans tout as such a success exploded in riots, after a "cargo truck in a coalition convoy had suffered a mechanical failure and hit as many as 12 civilian vehicles at a busy intersection. He said the coalition was investigating." Afghanistan people were screaming "Death to America." Some success story.

Violence exploded in Iraq. Two CBS journalists were killed and one is in critical condition and a soldier died today. http://www.cnn.com/...
I heard Bush speaking at Arlington Cemetery today. I did not write down his remarks, but the gist of them was that the cemetery reminds them all of why the United States is always so reluctant to involve itself in war. I heard these remarks, but did not see the speech, and I wonder if the family members of any soldiers killed in IRaq were there.
I wonder how the families of the over 200 killed in this war who are lying in Arlington Cemetery felt when they heard that "we are really careful going into this war." I wonder how they felt when Bush today said that that these soldiers died to "protect our freedom," and "win the war on terror."
So I ask: what are we going to do about this lying sack of garbage playing leader of the free world, and this insane war we are stuck in???
I don't really see this question asked, even here, where the most intelligent, insightful and critical thinking on the internet goes on. But I ask myself this question often: what are we, the citizens of this country, going to do about a Commander-in-Chief who lied us into war, and then gloats about how careful we are in declaring war.
What are our representatives going to do?? They cannot even decide if/when we should leave Iraq, or it there should be a timetable for leaving. Many of them are still afraid of being labelled as "weak on terror." What are their plans?? I hope that those of you who are going to Yearly Kos will ask them. Please. Get some ideas. Murtha keeps speaking up and the Dems are all running for cover, it seems to me. How many have signed onto his plan?? It is a smart plan. An intelligent plan. The people who read the news on television and the radio continually talk about how this new government is going to get Iraq under control, but Bush couldn't even answer this simple question the other day: If the best army in the world cannot contain the insurgency, what makes anyone think that ragtag Iraqi army, rife with militias and insurgents, can do it?
Does anyone have any ideas of what we should do? Can anyone propose intelligent alternatives to Murtha's plan, since most Dems don't seem to like that one? I would love to hear some discussion on how the hell we are going to get out of this country that is being torn apart more every week, it seems. I hope our reps would be willing to listen to your ideas too.
