Freep this Homophobic Poll!

Ok, I'm trying to think of a better way to say that, but I couldn't on the fly.  I'm also uncomfortable with using the word "freep"...but I saw it once on Street Prophets, so I think I'm ok.  There has to be a better word for that, too.

ANYWAY...Saw this in my other blog.  It is a chance to tip the scales in a poll of a very homophobic group--the AFA (American Family Association).

You'll find the poll in the link below.  The AFA is expecting an overwhelming majority of respondents to say that they would be 'less likely' to do business with a company if they knew it supported the "homosexual agenda".  

(I knew those pool parties at BiPM's were too good to be true!)

So far, they are getting the results they seek.

Let's change the outcome by completing the one question survey (gotta keep things simple, it seems) and sending it to everyone we know who is tired of this archaic and hateful way of thinking.

  Not freeping it might be more effective.  If they have to report that 99% of people said they would be less likely to deal with a gay-friendly company, they'll be laughed at and disregarded by any but the most hypmotized.

    You should be on their mailing list so you know what nefarious activities they're up to. I remember them doing one of these that was freeped and they yanked it and it made news on blogs all across the country. A black eye for them and a victory for us - get over there now!

  Sure, they're getting our email info, but I'm already on their email list because I want to stay aware of what those people are doing.

  But if they get strong poll results the way they want, it will be a club they will use to intimidate employers to discriminate against gays.  And they are constantly trying to intimidate employers to do this.  (I know, because I'm on their email list.)

  Let's remove one club from their arsenal.

  is that, in addition to being totally biased word-wise; and a single question; they give two possible responses to split the opposition!  "It would make more more likely to do business with the company" and "It would not affect my buying decision at all". Talk about skewing the outcome!

  Present results:
  "If a company promotes a homosexual agenda, it would"..

  • make me more likely to do business with them: ~6500
  • make me less likely to do business with them: ~180,000
  • not affect my buying decisions: ~3500

  (sorry I don't have the exact number, I already moved away from the page).

  obviously it's not scientific but -

  more people go to CNN than to AFA's website, I'll betchya.  yet even on their high poll days (where lots of folks use the poll at the bottom right hand corner) they have, at most, 160-170,000 votes (and that's usually over 2 or 3 days).  this is saying that AFA has more than that already?  yeah.  i really trust them.
