CommonBlog. Let's help those guys out so that they can keep the heat on DeLay. From
Murshed at Common Cause:
Rest of his blog post after the jump.
We need your help because we are going to need all the resources to take on the allies who are steadfastly defending Tom DeLay. And Mr. DeLay has some powerful friends in powerful places in Washington,
including the White House itself, which has signaled Mr. DeLay has done nothing wrong:
While White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card said it was "a matter for the House to consider" whether DeLay violated any House rules, he added: "We have no reason to believe that they (the rules) haven't been followed."
"We have not seen anything that would suggest that those allegations have any merit," Card told NBC's "Meet the Press," going beyond recent statements of support from President Bush.
In addition to that strong statement of support from White House, Mr. DeLay's allies are also organizing to defend the embattled Majority Leader, hosting an elaborate tribute dinner in honor of the Texas Republican on May 12th, tickets to which cost $250, $2000 per table or $10,000.00 to be a member of the host committee.
Considering the intensity of support Mr. DeLay is receiving from his friends in the powerful Washington establishment, this is not time for us to become complacent in our efforts to demand accountability from Tom DeLay:

So, while DeLay's allies are putting together fancy tribute dinners in Washington hotels, you can support us through small donations, which will add up, providing valuable resources to our organization, so that our staff can keep churning out reports on how the House can fix its ethics problems, educate and lobby lawmakers about the urgency of having an outside counsel in place to investigate the DeLay allegations, and reaching out to reporters and editorial writers all across the country to push for an outside counsel, keeping this story front and center.
We have already notched a huge win through a classic text book citizen lobbying effort. Now is the time we can use your help - so that we can keep pursuing our long term goal, which is to attain total accountability from powerful leaders like Tom DeLay, who often think they are invincible.
