I'm calling on fellow progressives, fiscal conservatives, and those who simply believe that the struggle in Iraq should be spared no expense to unite behind a great new entry into our lexicon:
The Iraq Hour
The war in Iraq costs us roughly $2 Billion each week. So here are the newest terms:
Iraq Hour = $10 Million (The figure is actually rounded down from $12 million to make it more managable.)
Iraq Day = $250 Million
Iraq Week = $2 Billion
Here is how they should be used in a sentence:
"The United States today made a generous pledge to the Tsuami relief effort of 35 Iraq Hours."
"The estimated cost of curing world hunger is a unaffordable 3.5 Iraq Weeks per year."
"The UNESCO estimates the cost removing the worlds landmines at 2 Iraq Weeks"
"The UNESCO estimates the cost eliminating illiteracy in the world at 2.5 Iraq Weeks"
"Fully funding No Child Left Behind would require 5 Iraq Weeks."
"The United States is currently spending 18 Iraq Weeks annually on Homeland Security"
Let's hear some of yours...
