DCCC spinning their failure as a win

Thu May 24, 2007 at 06:59:35 PM PDT

This just in from the DCCC:

Breaking News: Because of your help, the House just passed legislation that will go to the White House that includes critical issues Democrats have been fighting for including: canceling the President's blank check in Iraq, raising the minimum wage, and increased funding for military health care and veterans' benefits, and help for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Wow. Let's all jump up and cheer. $100 billion that could have taken care of health care, jobs, etc. if fed to the killing machine.

I used to work for a boss like this. Who would spin everyone of his f@#k ups as something "good":

THEN:
Two weeks ago, President Bush vetoed our legislation to demand accountability in Iraq and declared he would only sign a bill without any accountability for his management of the war.

NOW:
Now, the President has agreed to accountability and reporting provisions. That means for the first time we can force the President to be held accountable for his endless war in Iraq. We canceled the President's blank check in Iraq.

No, Brian, it isn't the first time you can force the President into anything. You would have done that by supporting Feingold's bill, but the collective Dems have no balls.

As the President's resistance shows, there is no quick and easy way to end this war.

Oh, you poor little victims. Have the majority but don't have the gonads to use them. Then throwing yourself a pity party.

As Speaker Pelosi said today about the vote, "This debate will go on." Democrats believe ending this war is a step-by-step process and today marks a significant step in this direction.

I will need your help again to take the next step in our fight to end this war. Tomorrow, Democrats in the House will announce a new plan to bring legislation forward that includes timetables.

Yeah, good luck with that. Don't count on my sweat and $$$ though.

Today marks a new beginning for America. We took a step forward together as a nation - away from the failures of the President's policies and toward a more hopeful time. Democrats are committed to redeploying our troops and ending the war in Iraq once and for all. Our commitment will never change and our dedication will never stop.

Yeah, whatever. And the swamp land in Florida you want to sell me is next?

I hope I can count on your continued support.

Sincerely,

Brian Wolff
Executive Director

Well, Mr. Wolff, actually...you can't.

Un, f@#king, believable!

    of the page for?

    •  They have that on there all the time (0+ / 0-)

If they had actually had an "ask" in there (sales term) I would have hit the roof.

Can't believe the gall of sending that crap.

Apparently they are trying to deflect from the news that is depicting them for what they are...cowards who caved to Bush.

On the other hand, while I am sure some of these voted "no" not for conviction but political expediency since they are running for office, I still want to thank the following:

      NAYs ---14
      Boxer (D-CA)
      Burr (R-NC)
      Clinton (D-NY)
      Coburn (R-OK)
      Dodd (D-CT)
      Enzi (R-WY)
      Feingold (D-WI)
      Kennedy (D-MA)
      Kerry (D-MA)
      Leahy (D-VT)
      Obama (D-IL)
      Sanders (I-VT)
      Whitehouse (D-RI)
      Wyden (D-OR)

The bolded men have consistently voted pretty progressive.

Do they really think that those who pay attention are going to buy their load of crap about this clusterf%ck?

Time to round up the Democratic consultants and ship them off to Antarctica.  There, they can at least use their powers of spin to try and sell people timeshares on once glacier covered rock.

    •  We are just free labor and pocketbooks to them (0+ / 0-)

Well, the good news is I will save thousands of dollars this year on what I won't donate and will have time to take a couple of vacations since I won't be volunteering for their campaigns.
