I'm a diehard mac dood. I've made my living in educational technology helping teachers incorporate technology into their curricula. I spend a lot of time doodling around. I recently quit my job here in Japan so I can move back to the States and get another job in Ed. Tech. So, 4 days ago, after the iBook munged itself for the third time since May, and despite my dwidling bank account from still being unemployed, I just plopped down 230,000 yen to purchase this new 12" Powerbook G4. It arrived this morning. All I can say is: WOW! It is a beautiful little machine. Light, compact and powerful, with a 1ghz G4 chip, these incredible little stereo speakers (now burning some Brazilian stuff that sounds completely awesome! I've even made dailykos the homepage in Safari (yeh, I'm waiting for 2.0, like everyone else). This machine will last me 5 years, with it's DV-R drive and plenty of memory...I'm swooning.
Any mac Kos ppl interested in keeping a side journal of our dealings with our Macs? What software would you recommend I install immediately (I'll be plopping down money for Panther when it ships, too...stupid me. :-) )
