Apparently it has come to light that, despite what
georgia10's front page diary says, Rockefeller's office is saying that he
isn't just going to let Roberts delay the Phase II investigation:

There may be more...that's what I saw.
More below...
So, it appears that the front pages have sent the dogs on someone for holding a position that they apparently didn't hold. Not only has Rockefeller's office now been flooded with angry demands that he take a position which he apparently already holds, but now a lot of people have a more negative view of him for no good reason.
This also isn't the first time I've seen something like this happen.
While I don't expect everyone who posts a diary to contact a politician's office to determine if every little thing they say is correct, being a front pager is different. What they write is immediately seen by tens of thousands of viewers, many of which are already angry and who will strike out at any democrat at any hint of slacking off.
So, this ultimately begs the question - with the responsibility and the influence that front pages hold, do they have an obligation to actually determine whether a democrat holds the position that they claim for them to hold? In this instance, a simple call to Rockefeller's office could have turned the diary from an "assail Rockefeller!" diary into, I don't know, a "media sucks" diary or something.
Several times on the thread I tried to warn that this was a single staffer of a single senator, and not very much should be read into it, but as I stated earlier, that's enough to get people into a frenzy anymore.
Perhaps a little extra fact checking is needed by front pages before they post a diary which will trigger a reaction like the Rockefeller diary did.
