  haven't had one for thirteen years. Mistakenly, I thought our family needed one when the children were born. We had one for six years. We threw it out when our son was ten and our daughter three.
    The children never missed it. I told our son that once he graduated from high school, we would get one for the summer between his graduation and college to gorge on American culture. Instead, he chose to walk the Appalachian Trail - and he completed it. Yeah, Georgia to Maine.
     Sad part is you will have to fight people off - you will get multiple offers of televisions once you do the deed. But, really, just do it - you will simply wonder why you waited so long.
