It's time to emphasize the disgust hinted at in the most recent polls. It's time to use our numbers to influence the system and take Bush down. How?
We need to make sure the 30% or so of Republicans that blame Cheney and Bush for Traitorgate call their Republican representatives and their local news outlets. Now, I really don't think the disaffected Republicans will call, but ala Mike Stark it's time to make a real difference.
Every politician in Washington is watching Bush's plummeting numbers and trying to figure out what to do. We need twenty-one Republican Senators and 35 Representatives to defect and agree that traitorous behavior and taking us to war under false pretenses is impeachable. Tell them, "I want an congressional investigation now and I want to find out why we're in Iraq cause it wasn't WMD. How did they let this happen to the Republican party? Bush is going to kill everything we've accomplished if we don't get him out now."
Make four calls. Call your Republican senators, two House Representatives and a local newspaper. Get them to start thinking hard about what they are going to do to keep there seat if Bush stays in office for the next three years. Will they win in 2006? Will they win in 2008? Will the Republican Party survive if they don't purge Bush themselves?
Republican and Independent disgust is real, we need the Republicans in Congress and the MSM to believe it is a growing, vocal disgust. Make the calls and right the letters. If we can sow FEAR, UNCERTAINTY, and DOUBT in the Republicans we can take them out in '06. If we can even get half to start considering impeachment, we'll have done enough.
An anaolgy: if this is a street fight, Bush is down and it is time to finish him. We can make the difference. We can either be satisfied he's been hurt and hope he stays down or we can start stomping on his head and make sure he stays down. Once the impeachment ball starts rolling, it's hard to stop sans having balls hanging down to your knees or resignation.
