The Big One is coming. Here's my scenario, what's yours?
Senator Kerry, you voted no in the first Gulf War to eject Saddam from Kuwait. It was successful, he was ejected, we were praised globally. With the current Iraqi conflict, you voted yes, and now say you would have voted no. What's different?
In the first gulf war, I did not believe a practical coalition could be built, nor that we would truly limit our goals to practical achievable military ends. That George Bush, the father, kept his word, proved me too conservative, and taught us something about the potential of American power and idealism.
For this Gulf conflict, I believed our President, the son, had the vision and the leadership abilities, and had learned the lessons of the father. He said he had the facts. I believed him. So did much of the country. So, I voted yes. This George Bush proved us all wrong--Saddam IS in jail, but more Americans are dying. There is no plan. Iraq is worse off, America is not safer, his vision and leadership have not worked.
