Yesterday, Dean had his first good day in a week. The Moseley-Braun endorsement was particularly helpful to him, as it received more coverage than either Harkin or Bradley's endorsement (more on that below).
Today's new ECC feature is a big one over which I long debated with myself: The Open Source ECC. Send me an email at christopher_j_bowers@yahoo.com and I will send you the Excel spreedsheet file that contains the ECC. This will allow a junkie the open the ECC as s/he sees fit, or to alter the ECC formula as s/he see fit.
Today is the beginning of the end of the invisible primary season. Tracking poll numbers taking today and included in polls tomorrow will still be included in the final invisible primary tracking poll updates on Monday. So, be on the lookout for who goes up and down in tommorrow's Rassmussen, Zogby and ARg polls. those candidates will be in the best position come Monday.
Ranking the Ednorsements
Dean's three biggest endorsements this month were Bill Bradley, Tom Harkin and CMB. How many feature stories were written about each endorsement?
Google New Search results
allintitle: "Braun" OR "Moseley-Braun" AND "Dean" (Jan15-16): 351 (and climbing)
allintitle: "Dean" AND "Bradley" (Jan 1-12): 300
allintitle: "Dean" AND "Harkin" (Jan 5-16): 205
So, at least by this metric, CMB's announcement was a bigger deal than everything except the Gore endorsement. This is significantly due to its relative proximity to the start of voting, and to her simultaneous announcement that she was dropping out of the race.
