Rush Limbaugh and Mary Maitlan are going to Afghanistan to report on all the great things there these days. (I don't expect them to report on this

Daryn Kagan of CNN who supposedly is an item with Rush these days was going, but now is not. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A33668-2005Feb17.html
For those who don't have registration here are the details without the Kagan commentary.

What you may or may not realize is that this trip is being sponsored by USAID. What is USAID? A brief synopsis of their history. http://www.usaid.gov/about_usaid/usaidhist.html
Who does USAID report to? None other than our new Secretary of State...http://www.usaid.gov/policy/budget/
Note also that Congress appropriates the funds for this government organization.
My question to every journalist that has reported on this is - Who is picking up the tab for this? I really don't care for my tax dollars paying for right wing propaganda. I would trust neither of these wingnuts to report accurately on a situation anywhere let alone Afghanistan or for that matter Iraq.
I would hope that Rush and Maitlan are paying their own way, but I seriously doubt it. If my tax dollars are paying for it, then I feel that they ought to have some left wingers along for balance.
