Early rumblings about Gore run? (Poll)

Is this a splash in the waters about a possible Gore run?

I noticed an article in the June 22, 2007 edition of The Hill,
Gore's 2000 team

Poll on the flip.

Speculation of a run by Al Gore for President certainly catches my eye and quickly gains my interest.
The article provides a tantalizing account of the members of Al Gore's 2000 campaign team.

According to the article,

Most members of Al Gore’s inner political circle have not yet signed up with any presidential campaign, triggering speculation that the 2000 Democratic nominee will jump into the race for the White House later this year.

This introduction certainly gives my brain a rush of adrenaline.  Finally I gush.  Gore's going to go for it!
The next sentence drops me down the cliff to a barren reality...

But Gore’s ex-aides and advisers say they do not think their former boss will enter the presidential fray

The article continues with a large splash of cold water in the face.  Wake up it whines, your not going to get any new information from me.  NO, I scream, this is  just a rehashed review of tired, worn, and thin rebuttals.  More of the MSM forlorn attempt to squelch the will of Gore's true people, the holdouts that will never forget election 2000.

Speculation about a potential Gore bid intensified after "An Inconvenient Truth," Gore’s film about global warming, won an Oscar earlier this year. Since then, however, sources close to Gore say the chances of him running have fallen significantly. One source said the chances of a run are close to nil.

Are you ready to give in to the same old song and dance of Gore's not running?

        The Democratic National Committee Convention "green" has to do with renewable energy, recycling and conservation.

        Read the details of all the environmental measures they're taking in 2008 compared to 2004.

    ... for Al Gore's 2000 Presidential Campaign in Nashville, TN.  And would do so again in a heartbeat.

    I think we'll know in September or October 2007 if he's running.

    FWIW, I think he will.  And that not only will he be the Democratic nominee but will win decisively in 2008.   :)

  Gore will not run unless Hillary stumbles. I've been contemplating about voting for Hillary and got on her mailing list. The instant I got on Hillary's mailing list, I got on Gore's mailing list, too. Thus, I think they are sharing mailing lists, which means that Gore is secretly supporting Hillary.

  OK, my observation could be just coincidence. May be I somehow got on Gore's mailing list through other means.

    I am on Gore's mailing list, and have not recieved any from Hillary.  It doesn't appear that he is sharing his list from my experience. (limited that it is).

      Is that since Hillary is a candidate and Gore is not, if you get on Hillary's list, you get on Gore's list, too. But if you get on Gore's list, you don't necessarily get on Hillary's list.

      I just remember, I got my first Gore email about a minute after I got my first Hillary email.

      However, I now have two data points. And the data states that my experience has only worked one-half of the time.

•  Gore has a contrarian populist aesthetic.

  That's why he endorsed Dean back in '04, and why he's unlikely to get behind any of the current pack until we have a nominee.  For a while Richardson could have pulled it off, but he's been a huge disappointment lately.  Dodd is probably next best, but he's insider and unhip.  Since there's nobody for Gore to get behind, he'll watch and wait.  That's it.  Only unknowable future events will decide whether Gore jumps in.

  That said, Gore has not ruled out running, which means he's willing to run.  But Hillary will run a near-perfect campaign, so I don't know how Gore can get in.  Maybe Obama will see the writing on the wall and approach Gore (getting the VP spot in return).  Dunno.

  None of the current candidates in either party are capable of cleaning-up Bush's 8-yrs. of destroying America. Only Al Gore has the ability to deal with this total mess. If Gore isn't the nominee, it's waste a vote for a third party time.

    that because none of the current candidates are going to be capable of cleaning up a mess it took 8 years to create, you should vote in a way that helps throw the election to someone who's going to continue making the mess worse?  

    Better to have someone making things worse than someone trying to clean them up, even if accomplishing that more slowly than it took to destroy them?

  Gore's The Assault on Reason is truly a great read so far. (I haven't finished it yet)

  It is inspiring and just by reading it you know Al Gore understands the severity and the scope of the damage done by the Bush Administration.

    back in the early '90s, and by reading it you knew Al Gore understood the severity and scope of damage being done to the planet.  

    Al Gore is a statesman and a thinker.  

    Maybe all those "God Bless the USA" prayers that have been going up will bring us a Gore candidacy.
