Up for Grabs: Reservation at Block Rate at the Hilton Hotel for Yearly Kos

Okay, this is really an annoucement rather than a diary, but it is important and could be helpful to someone in the community attending Yearly Kos.

I currently have a reservation at the block rate at the Hilton Hotel that I am not going to be using for YK.  It is for arrival on August 1 and departure on August 5, but you can probably lengthen/shorten the stay.  I have not yet spoken to the hotel about exactly how to transfer the reservation to another person, but I recently did this successfully with a room that I was holding at the Hyatt McCormick Place, so I am going to presume that where there is a will, there is a way.

So if you are kicking yourself for not acting fast enough to get the block rate at the first of our overflow hotels, comment below and we can hopefully sort out a switcheroo.

Remember, convention registraton closes on Bastille Day, so this is a great chance to get your room sorted out if you are in that group of kossacks who will certainly be piling in just before the deadline.

  and tried to get it extended to Monday without any luck, so if anyone else out there has any luck getting the room for Sunday night as well, let me know.

      inn - i got a room at the airport instead, which is most likely a good idea as we have a really early flight the next day.

        We're staying the night of the 31st at the airport.  That gives us a chance to decompress and get a good nights' sleep...and if our flight gets delayed, etc, it doesn't totally hose the first day...

        And then again, we stay the extra last night at the airport so we can just take the shuttle.  Makes for a much less stressful time!

        I can hardly wait!

  from last year's Yearly Kos, to help persuade the undecideds to pull the trigger and meet us in Chicago.  Bonus mojo for appealing to lurkers and convincing them that their attendance is critical to the success of YK and one of the major reasons that the convention was conceived in the first place.
