Obviously the Republicans haven't figured out that when 500+ soldiers get killed protecting us from weapons that don't exist,
people get angry:

LACONIA - While discussing his visit to Iraq, U.S. Congressman Jeb Bradley was unexpectedly put on the defensive, being bombarded with questions about the existence (or non-existence) of weapons mass destruction, unchecked military spending, and the growing national deficit.
Bradley gave the White House's standard defense of the month- that Saddam was a brutal dictator, etc. etc. etc. But at least a few Granite Staters know better:
Another man asked Bradley how he would feel if the shoe were on the other foot, what he would do if U.N. weapons inspectors were sent to America, given the massive amounts of weapons of all kinds in the US stockpile.
Bradley said he wouldn't support weapons inspectors coming to America.
"First of all, unlike other countries, we're not threatening," Bradley said, his remark interrupted by derisive laughter by [Gilmanton resident Dick] deSeve and others.
Looks like conventional wisdom on the Bush Doctrine has gone from necessary to tolerable to questionable to false to just plain laughable.
Well, laughable except for our soldiers who've been killed.
