There is some revealing news on Dreier "coming out" in the last few months that paints a really unfortunate picture for him. The 26th district of California is in play this year. With more and more voters leaning liberal here, and witht he fact that Dreier only barely won back his seat in `04 even though he outspent his opponent, who was not backed by the Democratic caucus, 30 to 1, there is more hope than ever that we can take this seat back. Add to this the fact that he's now openly gay, and also...
Recently, David Dreier was put in a leadership role with regards to cleaning up the house. I wonder who thought THAT was a good idea? It would have been almost as good if they just put DeLay back in charge. Dreier, like many many Republicans, is dirtied by Abramoff and many other lobbyists.
Dreier was placed by Hastert in a leadership role. Hastert and Dreier have lots in common, like discussing how big balls should be before breaking ethics rules. Drier said, and I quote, that it would take "balls THIS BIG to try any funny stuff now", lavishly extending his hands. I hope Dreier's opponent, Russ Warner, can debate him on the big, ahem, issues.
