Native American Caucus at YearlyKos

Mon Jul 30, 2007 at 12:30:57 PM PDT

I will be hosting the Native American Caucus at YearlyKos again this year on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm in Rm 101A

http://www.yearlykosconvention.org/...

Our caucus will be a forum for the discussion of political, social and economic issues affecting the indigenous peoples of the United States, including their lack of political representation, economic deprivation, health care issues, and the on-going struggle for preservation of identity and cultural history

Lind (Navajo on DailyKos) is currently working with the Puente de Hozho school in Flagstaff, Arizona—a school dedicated to teaching the Navajo language to young Navajo and to keeping the language alive. Lind designed their website at puentedehozho.org. She also started SF Kossacks, a group of San Francisco Daily Kos readers who number almost 300 and meet regularly in the Bay Area.

I have also started a blog for this group: Native American Netroots  The blog is fully functional to join and post but still missing a lot of content.  I will be unable to work on it anymore until I get back from Chicago so please forgive all the white space.  I also don’t like the Flickr badge because the images are too small.  Does anyone have any code that will display one photo (150px wide) at a time but rotate thru a bunch of images that I have stored at Flickr?  The code would need to be compatible with Soapblox. (I need to email "pacified" and ask him also)

I would appreciate your help in passing this news onto other Kossacks that might be interested in participating in our caucus and in our blog.

Everyone is welcome, you don't have to have blood quantum to join us. ;)

I liked the ring of Native American Netroots and that's why I didn't go with American Indian, First Nations or Indigenous Peoples.

Please post below if you plan to attend our caucus.
