Did you guys read Al Gore's facial tics during Live Earth?  Wow, it's like...so obvious!  He's running guys!!!  I saw his eye twitch when he was speaking in holographic form.  Now what does that tell ya???

You know what'd be funny?  What if Al Gore didn't run? Haha, that would be some funny shit, leading us on like this with obvious facial tics. I bet the wingers would get a kick out of all our "speculative" diaries.  They would probably make some snark about the reality based community, hehe.

  once upon a time, there was a brewery, in portland, that made what was called "blitz beer." it was the blitz-weinhard brewery. they went on to make "henry weinhard" beer, which became their best selling product, and then they sold out to one of the big national breweries.

  the brewery was in a ratty, industrial part of portland. i used to come down to it, because powell's books was right across the street from the brewery. parking, at night, was a bit sketchy. well, in the past fifteen years, that part of portland has become the hottest part of town- the "pearl district"- lofts, condos, galleries, boutiques, restaurants, clubs, a theater, a whole foods, etc. where the brewery once stood is now a bunch of loft towers- mostly green-built. i'm staying in the pearl, right now. something about this post, this location, and your uid made me piece that all together...

      I've got the meat of two coconuts marinating in Everclear, to be used in an experimental "piña colada" vodka infusion.

      A coconut is certainly a recalcitrant nut to crack, but I trust Everclear to extract its essential oils.

      Now I've got to get back up to Oregon for another bottle of the stuff.  The "Everclear" they sell down here in California is only 151 proof, and I used up the rest of my 190.

  there's a valid point here.  A diary which explained that "Al Gore blinked twice and then used the word 'the' three times in the same sentence during his TV appearane last night, which is how he telepathically communicates with me that he's running," would almost assuredly get a not-insubstantial number of recs, especially if accompanied by graphics and other things to pad the length.

  This is one of my biggest concerns about DKos--all too often, it turns into a gigantic political echo chamber.
