Here are the Traitors/Dem Hall of SHAME

I haven't posted a diary in avery long time. I am posting this one as hopefully an action/strategy diary to deal with the traitors who just sold our country down the drain. I hope we can use this to devolope an action plan to make them pay dearly for their capitulation during the recess.

I think we need to come up with a unified plan that we can all get involved in and that will get some press. The Dems have to learn that there is also a price to pay for not standing up to the President and fucking the people who elected them.

      I didn't see Nancy Boyda of Kansas on the list so I'm assuming she voted against it.

      If she can vote against it then no one else has an excuse. She's in a conservative district in very red Kansas and is facing a tough rematch with the Republican Congressman she defeated last time around.

      That takes guts! And principles! Something which a lot of Senators in deep blue states yesterday were clearly missing.

      I wrote to Amy Klobuchar, the Senator from Minnesota where I used to live until few days ago, about some incompetence of the Bush government. I do not remember what the topic was because somehow this government manages to create a controversy every day. My point is,  Amy Klobuchar (or maybe her answering staff) wrote me back saying she will fight with this Bush government for "the right of every Minnesotan and every American". So much for fighting for my fucking rights!!

    WTF is your problem?  What would a defeated Republican do?  Why keep these dems around if you have to get a super majority just to overcome your own Dems?  The solution to this nonsense is not a 400-35 House and 75-25 Senate.

    Focus the energy on the people who could have made a difference.  Followed the Constitution.  Voted what would be best for Americans and the people they represent.  All they had to do was vote for America.  Instead they voted for Bush, for easy vacation, and to avoid what the media might say.

          Then there is a net gain of 25 - 10 = 15 votes. That is very hefty in Senate standards. Not only will that allow us to block damaging Republican bills, but it will give us a filibuster-proof majority.

            We are screwed with Winner-Take-All elections. For many years us Americans laughed at the Euros (especially Italians) as they would weekly have to reform governments after no-confidence votes (or however parliamentary governments work). Yes, our two party system gave us stability. Now, this system has led us to where we have to vote in twice as many Democrats as we need because some will side with the neocons - the Euros are getting the last laugh.

            My solution - proportional representation. Yes, we would get the odd KKK or skinhead, but we would also get a whole lot more anti-war communists, socialists, libertarians, and pacifists. Who knows, we might even get a Flat-earther.

    to Lampson (my rep.)  Yes, we are a pretty conservative district, but as I pointed out in my letter, we expected more when we finally got rid of Tom DeLay; but Lampson voted the same way DeLay would've (just not as sleazy.)  I told him my campaign dollars might as well stay home next time, since I guess it doesn't matter whether we have a Repub or Dem in this seat!

        Like I said, ALONE the impeachment in the House is stronger than censure.  Clinton was impeached and the history books say that, tell me the last person you remember who was censured.

      i don't think any sort of protest or action is possible without good leadership.  As i wrote recently in another comment the problem with the protest movement in america right now is not the apathy of the people but the lack of leadership.  There's no galvanizing image to rally behind.

      This country desperately needs a leader right now.

        is something we can pull off. We just have to agree on what to send. get a frontpager to buy into it and post on it. Cross post at other sites and get the ball rolling. if fans can get a TV show put back on the air we can get some press out of embarassing these turncoats.

        We just need to post on it everyday and get people excited about it.
