Bush lead shrinking in Colorado
Salazar ahead of Coors

President Bush has a 6-point lead over Democratic Sen. John Kerry in a statewide survey of voters this week by The Pueblo Chieftain, but Kerry has cut the president's lead in half when compared to the newspaper's poll a month ago.
In the U.S. Senate race, Democrat Ken Salazar held a 4-percent lead over Republican brewer Pete Coors - but with a 4-point margin of error in the survey, both the presidential and Senate race could be even closer than indicated.
The survey of 600 registered voters was conducted by Ciruli Associates of Denver between Oct. 15-19. Among those polled, 38 percent were registered Republicans, 36 percent were Democrats and the remainder unaffiliated. Asked to describe themselves, however, 42 percent said they were strongly or moderately conservative while 26 percent said they were strongly or moderately liberal.

To put it bluntly: I don't trust the Chieftain. They are a conservative paper in an increasingly liberal town. Considering the sample and the editorial bias, I think this is great news.
And by the way, Kerry will be in Pueblo tommorrow morning, appearing with Ken Salazar. I have my ticket and I can't wait. NRSC ads are trying to link Salazar and Kerry, but if the race really is close I think it's more likly to help Kerry than hurt Salazar.
