At first I thought this video might have been a joke. Like one of those fake commericials on Saturday Night Live... but then I realized the people weren't actors.... they were actual republicans.
Intro soft soothing guitar music.
Josh Shultz the director of new media for the republican congressional committee comes on wants to explain to the GOP candidates and voters why the GOP can and will regain the majority.
Not an exact transcription... but probably close enough.
Boehner comes on to explain why our efforts in Iraq are really focused on fighting the war on terror. He talks about how when we started, it was about gettting rid of Sadaam Hussein, but then Al-Qaeda made it the central point in the war on terror.
Tells about all our success in building a democratic government in Iraq (3 elections woo hoo!!!).
"If we don't stop them in Iraq... where do we draw the line" he says.
Roy Blunt Republican Whip comes on.
"Al-Qaeda says this is the central front in the war on us."
"If we don't leave Iraq at the right time in the right way it will be the greatest recruiting tool for our totalitarian enemies...since the soviet union was driven out of Afghanistan."
"If they can say we drove the Soviet empire out of Afghanistan....and now we this greater enemy and has run out of Iraq...this dangerous totalitarian part of islan will grow."
Our hero Boehner comes back.
"Who doesn't belive that if we precipitously withdraw our troops that Al-Qaeda won't just follow us home."....
"This is about protecting our kids and our country for a long time."
more guitars...
then a whole bunch of white people say "Together we will... Together we can."
I guess their "new media strategy" is to take all of their talking points which America has thoroughly rejected, put them in a video, and then load them up the tubes to the Internets. Yeah that'll do it!!!
