Jay Leno returned to the air last night when he crossed picket lines (along with guest Mike Huckabee) which only angered striking Writer's Guild members who have been on the lines for two months.
Sure Jay won the ratings battle with Letterman. But he lost this viewer...forever.
Perhaps as a third-generation union member, I have a soft spot for the unions of America, but they are vital to keeping all of America's working families prosperous. Leno realized this, for a while, and delivered donuts to the picketers and honored their strike but not crossing it. But money talks and Leno crossed.
I'm disappointed. I always thought of Leno as the more blue-collar guy and Letterman as the more pompous, better-than-thou elitist. Leno was our Edwards, and Letterman was a Clinton.
Nah. Leno you showed your true colors. Rot in hell.
