Tonight, I'll put my head to my pillow and rest easier than I have in quite some time. It has been very hard for us lately and we have had many a restless night as a result.
However, after a long and promising day– after this glorious day, I can sense already a certain heaviness in my eyelids. A blessed fatigue that I haven't felt since my nap at the hotel in Guam, which ended our most recent nightmare.
Tonight, in both volume and result, was a profound and explosive statement to our nation and the world. Tonight was a stark indication that the rudder has at last freed itself and is turning the vessel. Tonight, I am confident in both the assurance of a Democratic Administration and the replacement of Senator Harry Reid for his failure of leadership.
Come what may: Come McCain, come Rudy, come Romney, or any other Republican candidate, I am filled with a deep sense of a unified American voice crying out, "Not you. Not you!"
This isn't the beginning, but I am now firmly in the belief that it is, in fact, the beginning of the good parts. This is where we can harvest some fruit from the tree. Not too much mind you. The war is long.
Before I said good night, I thought I'd share that with you all.
God bless and keep it up! Today was huge.
Nighty night.
:)
