I just finished
John Lescroat: The Suspect. A good courtroom/police mystery. Lescroat plots very well and his characters are well drawn, but his writing is not the greatest - he overtells some bits (e.g. he tells you the characters' emotions when it is perfectly obvious how they are feeling)
I am in the middle of
Fred Pohl The boy who Would Live Forever. This one slipped down my pile, but now it's back to the top
Raymond Smullyan The Lady or the Tiger. Inspired by juliewolf's great puzzle diaries on Sundays, I am re-reading this collection of logic puzzles.
Robert Heinlein the Moon is a Harsh Mistress. One of the classics of SF. The moon has been turned into a penal colony. Now, the descendants of the prisoners are rebelling.
The Pragmatic Programmer by Andrew Hunt and David Thomas. I am trying to improve my programming in both SAS and R.
This also leads to me reading The R Book by Michael Crawley, which is huge.
I am about to start
River of Gods by Ian McDonald, and SF novel about India, which got absolutely stellar reviews (including from the Indian press).
and, of course, my pile is huge
