First I'd like to congratulate Senator Barack Obama and his campaign for a remarkable, hard-fought victory last night in Iowa. The Obamas looked beautiful on stage--an image of historical-making proportions. They are proud and energized. And rightly so.
And it's a big story.
But, hello? Why is the media going on and on about Senator John McCain--who finished a statistical 4th place in the GOP Iowa race--without mentioning John Edwards, who finished 2nd last night in the Democratic race?
The frustration Edwards' supporters felt preceding the Iowa caucuses at blatant lack of Edwards coverage on an across-the-board scale continues unabated following the former senator's 2nd place victory over "the inevitable HRC" this morning.
John Edwards is once again abysmally absent from media airwaves as they continue their calculated process of eliminating him from coffee/dinner table talk across America. Nevermind how much he was outspent and trivialized at every turn. By the time you actually started hearing John Edwards name with more regularity on cable/TV news, the Iowa Caucuses were roughly 5-6 days away.
John Edwards who?
This is what happens when you've laid the gaunlet down and declared you will take a firm, aggressive stand for the people against corporations and our corporatized establishment.
I love this clip:
So here's my diary rant against the media today. I'm asking all Kossacks here who support Edwards (yeah, the bunch of you) to sign on to it, demanding that Cable/TV Media outlets give the former NC Senator John Edwards, the 2nd place winner of last night's Iowa Caucuses, a fair and balanced representation on their airwaves from here on out. If you can, write and/or e-mail these networks. (Just go to their websites--I don't have much time to link here at work.)
Give John Edwards a chance. Stop your detestable and disdainful treatment of a man who brings hope and inspiration to millions of Americans across the span of 50 States.
The 2nd place winner of the Iowa Caucuses.
Call the MSM and tell them to cease and desist from their blackout of Senator John Edwards.
