Given the percentages in each party by age group at the CNN website, and the total votes cast in each party, it appears that turnout by age group was as follows.
Share
Democratic Republican Democratic Republican
17-29 55,000 (22%) 13,438 (11%) 80.4% 19.6%
30-44 45,000 (18%) 18,324 (15%) 71.1% 28.9%
45-64 95,000 (38%) 56,206 (46%) 62.8% 37.2%
65 & + 55,000 (22%) 32,984 (27%) 62.5% 37.5%
Total 250,000 120,952 67.4% 32.6%
If you combine the two younger age groups, Democrats outnumber Republicans better than 3-to-1.
Incredibly, the Republican totals are still lacking 4% of the precincts, so I've adjusted the 116,114 obtained by adding the candidate totals given at the CNN website
http://www.cnn.com/...
by dividing by 96 and then multiplying by 100, so that the total projected Republican vote is 120,952. Apparently the party in charge of our national defense had a computer breakdown which it has been unable to repair for 18 hours. I've rounded the total Democratic vote of 250,005 down by 5 for simplicity of expression. And since the Republican age numbers added only to 99, I've multiplied each age group's share by 100/99.
