I know some are watching the Pittsburgh-Jacksonville NFL playoff game right now, and Al Michaels has sealed it.
Michaels was refering to a motivational tool the Pittsburgh coach, Mike Tomlin, had the last Pittsburgh-Jacksonville game from three weeks ago playing continuously at the Steelers practice facility this week to motivate his team.
Michaels response: "Some of those guys would have rather been waterboarded than seen that tape again."
Madden and Michaels snicker.
So I understand Mr. Michaels point, but he used an example which is illegal in most countries, including this one.
The sad and disgusting thing is that we've reached the point that it is now mainstream to refer this dispicable act in common conversation. That's just f*cking great. I am so freaking proud of what my country has become. I can't believe that this is what our country has become that a horrific, medieval torture tactic is a matter of simple, passing comment used to make a joke. I'm sure there are some people in this world who know the pain and suffering of enduring waterboarding and Al Freaking Michaels is making fun on national TV.
I sure hope Keith Olbermann has something to say about this--considering the game is on NBC?
Funny line, Al.
