Rasmussen has released today a poll from Virginia on the senate race and on head-to-head races for president.
Senate numbers:
Warner 53
Gilmore 38
These are the same results as the October poll. I continue to consider this race a likely democratic pick-up. Warner will need to mess up to lose.

Rasmussen also tested the presidential race, but to my disappointment, it only tested two democrats against two republicans. The results:
Against McCain:
Clinton 38
McCain 49
Obama 43
McCain 45
Against Romney:
Clinton 43
Romney 44
Obama 47
Romney 41

In short, Obama is running 9 points stronger than Clinton against McCain and is running 7 points stronger than Clinton against Romney. But it also shows that Virginia can be (and should be) a very competitive state in 2008. I think it would have been in 2004 if Kerry had not pulled out. It also suggests (as many national polls have shown) that McCain is likely the strongest republican for the fall election.
