This won't be long but it deserves it's own diary. I have the info on good sources but I cannot repeat where/whom, except that it involves my partner.
Anyway, as we speak, Hillary, Penn, and some "new people" (whatever that means) are working on a MAJOR policy speech about Hispanics and immigration.
Accoding to the Clinton team (the one's who aren't in shambles), they feel her only hope is with the large latino populations in the February 5th states. They will be making a major address shortly after NH because they feel it will take a good three weeks for the message to sink in, be fully absorbed, and affect the polls and election results in the Feb 5 contests. They also feel that the hispanic media is massive and hasn't been fully exploited and their remaining money will be pumped into that to get latinos to vote for her in the big-state primaries.
Your guess is as good as mine in what the details of the speech/policy initiave will be. However, it WILL definitely be a pro-Hispanic proposal and will be a "contrast" with the anti-illegal immigrant hysteria traveling throughout the country as we speak. But, beyond that, I have no idea vis-a-vis the specifics.
FWIW, IMO, maybe the speech will offer some hope to latinos vis-a-vis pathway to citizenship etc.
Please don't shit on the diary or call me a liar. I am only giving what I heard/know on good sources. Take with a grain of salt if you like. :)
What do y'all think about it? Will it work? CAN it work?
