Hoping the community can help me out here on a slow 'n quiet Friday night. Yes, this is a personal question type of diary that will push more meaningful diaries down the list - SORRY! But I'm kinda at my wit's end with this and you all are SOOO SMART!!!
I've been getting calls from creditors looking for someone else for over a year. No amount of appealling to their "common sense" seems to work.
More details below, if yer so inclined...
The calls are coming to my cell phone for a man who shares my first and last name, but not my middle initial. After being nice the first few times - explaining we weren't the same person, I didn't have any school loans, and OH, BTW, OUR NAMES AREN'T EVEN THE SAME, I started to get nasty to them. The calls slacked off for a few months, but started again last month.
I finally called Verizon, but they had no suggestions. I made sure my entire middle name is now listed with Verizon, but the calls keep coming through. And they are calling at increasingly crazy hours.
Anyone know what I can do? Verizon suggested changing my phone number, but I don't know how they got ahold of it in the first place. Besides, I'd have to have a forwarding number listed and have no doubt they'd just start in again with the new number. Kinda pisses me off that Verizon couldn't offer any suggestions on who to call - maybe the FCC? I'm on the Do Not Call List.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Anyone with suggestions, or even just a bit of empathy, is welcome to respond. I promise to dole out mojo!!!
