Impressive, but that's actually only one of three impressive endorsements the Hillary Clinton campaign received today.
First, the endorsement of Alice Huffman, president of the California NAACP.
"Over the years, Hillary Clinton has earned my respect as a staunch advocate for the rights of people invisible to our nation's government, including women, minorities, children, and seniors," said Huffman. "Hillary shares my commitment to children, and has been a lifelong advocate for improving childhood education and health care. As President, I feel strongly that Hillary will create an atmosphere in this country that accepts and promotes the rights of all Americans."
Huffman has a distinguished career in public advocacy. Since 1999, she has been president of the California State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the nation's oldest civil rights organization. In 2002, Huffman was elected to the NAACP's National Board of Directors were she currently serves as Region I Board Member. Huffman has previously served as associate executive director for politics for the California Teachers Association and state president of the Black American Political Association of California.
"It is wrong that that Americans still face discrimination in the workplace - that children still attend schools that are separate and unequal, and that schools don’t prepare them for the jobs of the 21st century," said Senator Clinton. "Alice and I have long shared the same cause of fighting to right those wrongs and I am both honored and humbled to have her support."
Then, the endorsement of New Mexico Lt. Governor Diane Denish
"I am standing with Hillary Clinton because she will fight every day she is in the White House for our families and children. She is the candidate with the heart, record and experience to bring about the change we need," said Lt. Governor Denish. "Hillary and I share the important goals of expanding access to health care, improving our schools and ensuring every American can take advantage of our nation's opportunities. New Mexicans know Hillary Clinton, they know she's a fighter and they share her vision of putting working Americans first. I'm proud to offer her my endorsement."
As a mother, small business owner, and community activist, Lt. Governor Denish has a long, proven record of delivering results for the people of New Mexico. She successfully reorganized the New Mexico Democratic Party and oversaw several electoral successes.
Denish was elected Lieutenant Governor in 2002, becoming the first woman to ever hold that office in New Mexico.
Lt. Governor Denish was reelected on November 7, 2006. As Lt. Governor, Denish has fought to improve education, increase access to health care, crack down on criminals who endanger children and create greater economic opportunities for New Mexicans.
"Lt Governor Denish is a true inspiration and I am honored to have her support," said Senator Clinton. "As Lt. Governor, she has shown a true, committed passion for helping New Mexico’s families. Like her, I have chosen this life of public service because I want to help people and build a brighter future for everyone. I am running for President not to put band-aids on America’s problems. I want to solve them."
And third, the endorsement of U.S. Representative Mike Thompson from California:
"I have worked with Senator Clinton since she was First Lady and she has always shown herself to be an intelligent, hard-working, and compassionate public servant who really cares about the people of our country," said Congressman Thompson (D-CA). "Her lifetime of experience, including her most recent work in the United States Senate, has given her a deep understanding of issues critical to rural communities like those throughout our district - including the difficulty in accessing quality healthcare and the challenges and benefits of sustainable agriculture."
Representative Thompson was elected to represent California’s First Congressional District in 1998 after severing in the California State Senate. Thompson was the first Vietnam veteran elected to the California State Senate, continues to own and operate a small, organic vineyard, and has made his reputation in Congress bringing Republicans and Democrats together on important legislation.
"Representative Thompson has dedicated his life to serving his country and he has an incredible record of delivering results to the people of his district," said Senator Clinton. "From urban centers to the spectacular North Coast, families I talk to are looking for change. With California’s help and support, I will deliver that change and get our country back in the solutions business again."
