Good lord, more often than not, I read the papers, and I feel I am reading some young kid's attempt to generate something for his or her resume. (Cue image of some kid with tongue sticking out of side of mouth, eyes squinting, face a mask of concentration. Or, picture GWB trying to understand "economics" as ours goes to hell in a handbasket.)
So what to make of this?
We should watch this writer. ......
I can see future interviews in store for him. Exclusives even!
"McCain tells it like it is, despite scowls"
"Clinton soldiers on, despite controversy"
"Edwards regroups, despite set-backs"
"Obama challenges nation, but past skeletons linger"
Good lord, I read crap like I linked to above, and I realize, I could write twice as good as these over-pedigreed plebes if I only were to take it down a few notches and also bonk myself over the head with a nice rubber hammer ever 20 minutes.
Idiots. The Villagers are idiots, and they welcome the well-groomed idiots.
because truly, look at that headline in the NYT article. How is that not simply a piece of reportage that should instead read, "Thompson, Losing, Sticks to Losing Strategy."
Only amongsth the villagers could this article count as worth writing. The poetry of the horserace.... The villagers do love their elygiacs, epics, odes....
