From the "this just in" department (I'm too low key to put "breaking" in my diary headlines).
Former senator Jean Carnahan, widow of the late Mel Carnahan, Will endorseObama tomorrow.
Recall that Mel Carnahan posthumously defeated John Ashcroft in the 2000 election (one of the few Dem bright spots that year) -- then governor Bob Holden appointed his widow Jean Carnahan to fill the seat.
In any event, this is the second major Missouri endorsement for Obama -- the first being Senator Claire Mcaskill.
And, a simple observation: It seems that Obama now has the endorsement of many senators from the currrent Senate, and from the recent past. I'm not aware that Hillary has any. [Update -- my mistake -- HRC has ten senators -- full list of endoresements HERE]
Any thoughts as to the reason Obama is winning among those who have worked with him and/or Hillary --- and its significance?
I don't mean that as an anti-Hillary slam (though I do support Obama) -- just as an observation for debate and discussion.
