I don't know if this meets the requirements for a diary entry, and I can delete if it doesn't, but I need help, and I know you all can dig up extraordinary research on google. :)
This morning, I went out, started the car, turned on the rear defroster, and went back into the apartment. I came back out a few minutes later and heard a LOUD pop. I thought it was the ice cracking. Hubby went to scrape the ice off the back windshield... the glass all shattered and about a third of the back windshield fell in tiny little pieces into my back seat and dash.
So, I need your help.
I've been doing some research, and have found stories dating back to the 80's about GM cars having their rear windows shatter for seemingly no reason. When looked into further, the rear window defroster was to blame.
So, what I need help with is collecting links. I go to the dealership in a bit less than an hour to get my car looked at. I want to take my evidence with me. They're trying to back out of it... they're trying to blame it on other things... the cold, etc. If the rear window defroster is to blame, GM has to pay for it.
So, can you help me find recent stories of things like this happening to GM cars? I have a 2002 Buick Century, so anything about Buicks would be best, but stories of any GM models will do. In the mean time, I will look up what I can myself. I would like to take no less than 20 stories with me.
Thanks so much!
