The only Democrat of sufficient stature with the MSM, party regulars and the public in general, and therefore the only figure capable of countering Bill Clinton's attacks on Barack Obama and his carelessness about what this could mean for a long term progressive agenda and party health, is Albert Gore.
Where are you Al?
Al Gore, if he chose to do so, could immediately counter-balance the destructive self-centered rantings of his former running mate.
What Bill Clinton is doing, with what I can assume to be Hillary's full approval, is a reflection of how his errant judgment and sacrifice of principles for power (e.g. Rwanda, grazing rights, NAFTA, WTO, lewinsky, etc.) came to represent his eight years in the white house, and why his administration was ultimately a huge disappointment for me and many progressives.
The man's ego has ALWAYS overshadowed the need to build a strong progressive national party for the generational change required to set this nation on the right course.
I believe that this is exactly the kind of administration we can expect if Hillary Clinton is the nominee and eventual winner (I have my doubts, especially if McCain is the Republican nominee) in the fall.
Al Gore has the resume, record, prominence and respect to take on an increasingly out of control Bill Clinton.
Now's the time Al.
