I'm sorry, but the outrage, the anger, the sense of being treated unjustly, the cries of no fair and so on and so on coming from Team Obama is just ridiculous.
And all this hyperventilating about what It is the nature of politics (it's never been nice or kind) What were his supporters expecting a coronation with the crown handed to him by Hillary without her making any serious effort to claim it as her own?
Too many Obama supporters are so blinded by their sense of righteousness. The over-reactions reflect terribly on an otherwise great candidate. It makes him look like he's a victim, or rather, it makes him look like he's playing the "I'm a victim" card.
Some think the Clinton strategy is to tag Obama as the Black candidate and in doing so make America take off the color-blind glasses they view him currently.
If they truly trying to do that, they're biggest allies have been the outrageous Obama supporters who attack with a fury better saved for the general campaign.
Nothing the Clinton's have said is worthy of strong reactions. The newsmedia would ignore it if Obama did, but they will not because it gets a POWERFUL reaction from the Obama camp.
The conservative press as desperate as ever to cause conflict in the Democratic primaries have quickly learned that it doesn't take much to get under the skin of an Obama Supporter, and not much more to get under Obama's skin.
Being hypersensitive rather than choosing to stand above it hurts Obama far more than it could ever hurt Hillary.
Hillary has been the target of it for 2 decades. As a result those who oppose her do, and those who supporter her will support her no matter what happens. Her support is solid.
Obama though hasn't had to deal with these sort of vicious attacks, and it shows. His campaign, he both show an immaturity that truly astounds.
And it raises a simple question. If he cannot handle calmly and effectively what are in relative terms softball campaign attacks from eventual supporters (should he win) what is he going to do when the Republicans turn their hate machine on him.
How effective will it be for people to scream stop being mean to Obama when the Republicans refer to him EXCLUSIVELY by his full name................... Barak Hussein Obama.
Will we get treated to a national debate where Obama with audible anger in his voice tells the eventual Republithug candidate to stop calling him Barak Hussein Obama. Only to see the Republithug tweak his tail some more and then simply refer to him as Hussein?
Will we be treated to passionate African American supporters demanding the news media stop treating Obama so unfairly because it's "their" time? (for all too many whites on the fence this sounds like he is "entitled to be president.")
And most importantly the REPUBLITHUGS WILL PLAY THE RACE CARD, over and over and over again. Instead of getting angry and outraged, spend time planning an effective strategy, one that doesn't sound so much like "you're racist."
The Republithugs would have a field day with that, and turn it into a virtue.
The Republithugs would just absolutely love to have a noticeably thin skinned candidate to run against, that quickly reacts to their insults and taunts; whose supporters demand respect 'because he deserves it.'
If Team Obama cannot handle powderpuff attacks from Clinton any better than this, should he win the nomination, his campaign will be over before it begins as it will be immediately destroyed by the Republithug hate, lie buzz saw that does NOT play nice, does NOT respect anyone, and will exploit any weakness, and twist any truth to win.
